Coming up in the next month is the deadline for the submission of data for physicians who are qualified for the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) and who participated in the 2022 performance period of the Quality Payment Program. Any time up until March 31, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time, data may be contributed and updated.
Note that the deadline for data submission using the CMS Web Interface for ACOs, pre-registered groups, and virtual groups is likewise March 31, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT). Throughout the entirety of the 2022 performance period, quality metrics that were reported through Medicare Part B claims have been submitted. Sign in to qpp.cms.gov to view your preliminary comments on the data that has been processed to date about the Part B claims measure. At the conclusion of the submission period, we will revise this feedback with the claims that have been handled by your Medicare Administrative Contractor within the 60-day run-out period.

- In order to submit their data, clinicians will need to complete the steps mentioned below:
- Navigate to the webpage for the Quality Payment Program.

You have the option of submitting your MIPS data for the 2022 performance period or reviewing the data that was reported on your behalf by a third party.
Instructions for Getting Started with the Quality Payment Program Data Submission System
Clinicians will be required to register in the HCQIS Authorization Roles and Profile (HARP) system before they are able to sign in or submit data. Please consult the QPP Access User Guide if you are a clinician and require assistance enrolling in the HARP program.
Note: Clinicians who are unsure as to whether or not they are qualified to participate in the Quality Payment Program can use the QPP Participation Status Lookup Tool to check their final eligibility status and determine whether or not they are eligible to participate. Before being able to submit data, clinicians and groups that are eligible to participate via opt-in will be required to choose a choice. (Those individuals who do not choose to take part in MIPS are not obligated to hold an election.)
Support for Rural and Small Practices, Especially Those That Are Underserved
Clinicians working in small practices, particularly those in rural areas, areas with a shortage of health professionals, and regions that are medically underserved are encouraged to submit requests for technical help to organizations that are able to offer support at no cost. On the website of the Quality Payment Program, there is a page titled “Small, Underserved, and Rural Practices.” If you would like more information about this support or if you would like to make contact with an organization that provides technical assistance in your area, we encourage you to visit this page.
